Day by day

Eleven days on the Futaleufú


DAY 1 - Arrival & charter flight

An overnight flight from Europe to Santiago, Chile.


DAY 2 - Puerto Varas

Connect to Puerto Montt and transfer to a lakeside hotel in picturesque Puerto Varas for a welcome dinner.


DAY 3 - Into the valley

A short flight to Chaitén and scenic drive past hanging glaciers bring us to the Futaleufú for our first Class IV rapids and three nights in lakeside cottages.


DAY 4 - Espolón River

An optional mountain-bike ride and gentle Class I–II inflatable kayaking on the Espolón, with a riverside lunch.


DAY 5 - Upper Futaleufú

A full day of Class IV rapids through the remote upper canyon, with an optional cliff jump at Zeta Rapid.


DAY 6 - Río Azul & Peuma Lodge

Bike to the turquoise Class III Río Azul, then settle into a forest lodge with wood-fired hot tubs beneath towering granite spires.


DAY 7 - Upper Futaleufú

Run Class III–IV rapids to the hidden Río Blanco, then hike, climb and swim through its labyrinth of azure pools and waterfalls.


DAY 8 - Lago Obsession

Hike through ancient forest to a rarely-visited hanging lake beneath a 2,000-foot granite tooth, condors circling overhead.


DAY 9 - Lower Futaleufú & Yelcho Lodge

Run the lower river's quick Class IV rapids, then transfer to a hand-built lodge on Lago Yelcho for a farewell dinner.


DAY 10 -Leaving Patagonia

A short flight to Puerto Montt and an afternoon in Puerto Varas before onward travel.


DAY 11 - Fly home — or stay on

Fly back to Europe, or continue exploring Patagonia at your own pace.
